The influence of religion becomes more of a threat to the LGBTI movement as society as a whole moves towards becoming more polarized. Increased backlash and further crackdown on the LGBTI movement as a whole based on religious beliefs, family values and other principles can be observed. At the same time mainstream LGBTI organizations have limited engagement on religion and in most cases consider religion as a threat to the LGBTI community. COC has identified an missing or lacking connection between religious specific LGBT movements and mainstream LGBTI organizations.

Through an orchestrated efforts COC aims to provide support to our partners to allow them to better link to religious LGBTI community members and integrate knowledge and services with religious focus in their services as well as an lobby & advocacy approach.
