Recently Zimbabwe has seen an increase of emerging LGBTI organisations who were either created under or with the support from GALZ and SRC.
The current political context is of opportunity. As organisations find ways to collaborate, engage and come together for better advocacy strategies, the LGBTI movement in Zimbabwe grows stronger.
Today self-led groups of trans people, intersex people, LBQ women and gay men come together with other constituencies such as sex workers, people who use drugs and AGYW to advocate around HIV, SRHR and Human Rights more broadly.
Zimbabwe is an excellent example of how movement building can transform the reality of the most marginalized people in the country as they unite forces to challenge criminalization of LGBTI people and other forms of social oppression.
