Rainbow Identity Association’s (RIA) lessons learned process focused on raising awareness on issues of transgender and intersex persons to different stakeholders (religious leaders, cultural leaders and educators, service providers and legal practitioners) and also educating and empowering the transgender and intersex community members. During the implementation of the project, RIA learned that communication and language usage with different stakeholders is a vital key note to address when doing workshops and trainings. RIA also learned that the transgender community, when accessing or seeking services from different provisions tend to default from their original gender identity, hence there are no statistics that show how many transgender and intersex persons are accessing services.
